Today we had our beloved cat Tex put to sleep. He escaped a coyote in single combat, didn't care for cattle, acted as Head of Household Security for fifteen years, and loved us.
Let me tell you about a cat I had once ... I don't know that I ever told you about her. I was a little girl living up in the mountains, and my cat's name was Snuggles, which didn't fit her at all, because she would scratch a Doberman dog on the nose. She was rather a watch-cat, full of spunk, and once she unexpectedly had four kittens. One day Snuggles went off another one of her expeditions and never came back ... I bet she took on a mountain lion, or got injured and couldn't return over the mountains, or something. But she was a little cat who thought she was a lion, and she was my cat, and I missed her.
Anyway ... I'm sorry about Tex. It was so good to talk to you on IM the other day!
Aawww. I'm sorry, Carolyn. Poor Tex. Was he sick?
ReplyDeleteYeah. He had cancer. :-(
