On paper lanterns

Surrounding bulbs by shades of paper
Diffuses watts like sun through vapor.
Lumens scatter through translucence,
Flying persecuted through thence.
It’s not a mystery profound
That veiling spread the glow around;
A colored cage of wire and wood
Glorifies the light as good.

Cool! ... "Through thence" is a bit hard to say. But the poem is happy and true.

Lightbulbs hid in paper shades
Diffusing watts as sunshine fades.
Translucent tissue scatters light
Illuminating darkest night.
